Jenks Public Schools Job Description

Position: Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Reports to: Director of Personnel

Supervises: None

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrate ability to use oral and written communication effectively.
  • Word processing experience preferred.
  • Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal: To assist in the daily operation of the Human Resources Office and the effective maintenance of employee personnel records.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assists district employees with information, identification cards, building access, and other human resource needs.
  • Enters and maintains personnel information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and electronic personnel file system.
  • Maintains the organization and updating of personnel files including annual Board of Education Policy, Criminal Record/Felony Affidavits, and JPS Employment Contracts.
  • Provides information, answers questions, and distributes information to individuals inquiring about positions.
  • Serves as primary back up for the Education Service Center Building Administrative Assistant as needed.
  • Assists with the update of job descriptions, agreements, and contracts.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of forms and supplies.
  • Completes verifications of employment and student loan forgiveness forms.
  • Assists HR Specialists with preparation of personnel files, data entry, and collection of required documentation.
  • Assists with completing various reports.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract

FLSA Qualification: Non-Exempt

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
