Serves Human Resources for the Louisiana State Penitentiary
LSP has a large number of staff. This facility is a multi-custody field operation that houses adult male offenders of all custody levels – minimum, medium, maximum (death row), and protective custody.

Three years of human resources experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

- Responsible for processing the full range of personnel and payroll actions including appointments, performance adjustments, promotions, rehires, reallocations, transfers, separations, etc., as well as certifies all related job, personal, salary, costing and organizational information. Ensures all transactions are to be in compliance with Civil Service rules, and regulations, Federal and State laws and internal department policies.

Responsible for Data Integrity Assurance of biweekly payroll reports to ensure compliance with Civil Service rules and regulations, Office of Statewide Uniform Payroll and federal and state laws and regulations and guidelines, proper salary objects classification, accuracy of employee's gross pay and deductions.

Provides and processes employee benefit information as it relates to Health, Life and Miscellaneous Insurances, Worker’s Compensation, Transitional Duty, Family Medical Leave Act, Flexible Spending Accounts, Affordable Care Act, Americans with Disability Act, etc.

Performs all other duties as assigned

Work with all employees and new hires, prospective employees, the public, inmates, etc.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.

An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.

This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level.
However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Human Resources Analyst A has an SER of $ 17.43 per hour

Human Resources Analyst B has an SER of $ 18.64 per hour
Career Progression Group:
HUMAN RESOURCES ANALYST A, B, or C-
Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.

Salary depends on level of experience.

Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and not the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
