Human Resources Assistant

Position Summary: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations including but not limited to recruiting, HRIS, employee relations, etc. Develops relationships both inside and outside of the company that promote TP Mechanical and represents the Human Resource Department in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists recruitment in posting jobs as well as new hire onboarding including offer letters, fit-for-duty and OSHA completion, background checks, compiling orientation folders and scheduling orientation as well as all e-verifications and I9 audits.
  • Responsible for processing new hires in UKG and transferring to Computer Ease.
  • Processes all employee changes (pay increases, address changes, terminations, etc.) in UKG.
  • Responds to all verifications of employment.
  • Compile and prepare weekly and monthly reports and documents pertaining to benefit administration, turnover and other various required industry reporting.
  • Performs data entry of premium updates as well as 401(k) contributions and loans in Computer Ease.
  • Oversees the organization and maintenance of personnel files including documentation related to recruitment, training, benefits, performance evaluations, etc. in UKG.
  • Maintains the safe working hours notifications for the company.
  • Oversees performance review process to ensure reviews are conducted timely for all employees and notifies management if reviews are not completed on time.
  • Performs quarterly audits of UKG and Computer Ease to ensure system integrity.
  • Conducts quarterly and annual MVR checks.
  • Maintains attendance records for all employees.
  • Ensures accurate PTO accruals and eligibility.
  • Ongoing maintenance of the UKG system.
  • Assists the Apprenticeship Coordinator in approving OJTs, processing annual applications, updating attendance and licenses, and any other assistance that is needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience/Qualifications Required:

o Prior Human Resources experience is preferred.

  • Job Skills:

o Ability to use HRIS systems.

o Knowledge of Windows based software (Excel, Word) and any e-mail system.

o Good math ability.

o Detail oriented.

o Strong organizational skills.

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

o Capable of handling confidential information.

  • Education:

o High School Diploma.

o Two (2) year degree in Business or Human Resources preferred.

  • Special Requirements:

o Valid Driver’s License.

o 10-hour OSHA certification prior to starting.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week
