We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to support our HR operations in a fast-paced construction environment. With a workforce of around 130 employees, this role plays a key part in maintaining compliance, supporting recruitment, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR functions across field and office teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for field and office staff.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, certifications, and compliance documentation (e.g., OJT, benefit enrollment, employee tracking).
  • Support recruitment efforts by posting job ads, scheduling background checks, monitoring onboarding processes, and helping candidates as needed.
  • Coordinate employee training sessions, including safety and compliance programs.
  • Track and report employee attendance, time-off requests, and job site assignments.
  • Help administer benefits enrollment and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Prepare HR-related reports for management, including turnover, headcount, and compliance metrics.
  • Assist with payroll data entry and verification in coordination with accounting.
  • Reviewing subcontractor certified wage reports and monitoring compliance.
  • Support HR communications across job sites and office locations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience, preferably in construction or a similar industry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (Paycor is a plus), construction management software (Vista/Viewpoint is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of labor laws and HR functions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
