Position Summary:
The HR Assistant supports daily human resource operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR compliance, scheduling, and general administrative duties. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with warehouse leadership and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage job openings, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews.
- Support new hire onboarding, including orientation, paperwork, and training coordination.
- Maintain accurate employee files and ensure all required documents are completed.
Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a point of contact for warehouse employees regarding HR-related questions.
- Assist with documenting and tracking attendance, corrective actions, and performance evaluations.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and communication efforts.
HR Administration
- Maintain HRIS data, employee records, and personnel files in compliance with company policies.
- Process status changes, terminations, transfers, and other employee-related updates.
- Assist with payroll preparation by collecting and verifying timecards, schedules, and attendance logs.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
- Support safety training, incident reporting, and worker’s compensation documentation.
- Help coordinate random drug screens and background checks as needed.
Warehouse Support
- Work closely with warehouse managers and supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing.
- Support shift scheduling, job bidding, and labor tracking when required.
- Provide administrative support during peak seasons, inventory periods, or staffing shortages.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of HR or administrative experience; warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR functions and employment practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems a plus.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to walk warehouse floors, including uneven surfaces, as needed.
- Must be comfortable working in a temperature-controlled or non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs may be required during onboarding, training sessions, or file management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.04 - $27.12 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
