Regular, FLSA non-exempt, benefitted, full time (80 hours per pay period) position
Salary range: $33.29 - $40.41 per hour
This opportunity is open to all internal and external applicants who are interested in gaining Human Resources experience with a focus on providing administrative support for Human Resources operations.
The HR team generally works a hybrid schedule with a two-day on-site minimum. This position will require additional on-site presence for in-person meetings, HR project work, and operational needs.
A pay period is two weeks in length that starts on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday.

Position Overview
The Human Resources Associate plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This position is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, customer service functions, file retention and organization, and reporting duties. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing excellent service to Library staff. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager.

Customer-Focused: Demonstrates excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing responsive, respectful service to staff and job applicants.
Technologically Proficient: Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and managing electronic files and shared documents.
Discreet and Professional: Maintains confidentiality and exercises tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive employee information.
Equity-Minded: Has a foundational understanding of racial equity and social justice principles, particularly the City of Seattle’s Race and Social Justice Initiative.

Education: High school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED).
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing administrative and office support in a collaborative environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Customer Service & Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to listen, assess, and respond effectively to inquiries.
Tact, Diplomacy & Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience managing electronic files and using shared documents. Familiarity with Access queries and Excel formulas is preferred.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs.
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to track and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
