Position Overview
The HR/Bookkeeper will manage essential HR functions and daily accounting tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and hands-on experience with restaurant-specific systems including Toast POS, Toast Payroll, QuickBooks, and Excel.
Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources
- Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel files
- Process payroll through Toast Payroll and maintain accurate employee records
- Track PTO, attendance, and scheduling compliance
- Ensure labor law compliance, including new hire reporting, postings, and documentation
- Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes
- Assist with team training, benefits administration, and internal communications
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Daily sales reconciliation and reporting using Toast POS
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
- Process vendor invoices, bill payments, and expense tracking
- Assist with month-end close, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial summaries for leadership
- Work with external accountants as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of HR, bookkeeping, or administrative experience (restaurant experience strongly preferred)
- Proficiency with Toast POS and Toast Payroll
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of payroll processes and basic accounting principles
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and confidentiality
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
