Position Summary: Human Resource Business Partner will administer the daily functions of the Human Resources department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, coaching supervisors and enforcing company policies and practices. This position will report directly to the corporate Senior Human Resources Manager and site Vice President of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Please note that the following duties and requirements described herein represent general expectations of this job. Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification. Knowledge of all duties is to be cross-functional but specific duties are assigned to the available personnel.

  • Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Is the company's Subject Matter Expert in the following:
    • Employee Relations
    • Recruitment, onboarding
    • Benefits Administration and Compensation
    • Workers Compensation and Safety Administration
    • Training and Development
    • Employment Law
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors exit interviewing; writes and places job postings.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of wage and salary program.
  • Performs benefits administration for company plans to include Open Enrollments, vendor/benefits negotiation, claims resolution, annual reviews/audits, annual reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of benefits.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in fulfilling their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports.
  • Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • College degree in Human Resources or related field and 5 years related work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing all human resource department functions with the knowledge and ability to execute full range of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all employees and customers openly and effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial, customer service-minded, positive team-player with a can-do attitude.
  • Adept at working with management to influence/facilitate change, implement strategy and accomplish objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal relations: tact, sensitivity, professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy
  • Experience working with a union population is preferred but not required.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
