Human Resources Business Partner - Santa Clarita, CA


Position Summary:

The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic and operational leader, supporting the organization in all areas of human resources. This role is responsible for managing core HR functions including employee relations, compliance, talent management, training and development, and HR systems administration. The HRBP collaborates closely with leadership to drive initiatives that support employee engagement, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead for employee relations matters, including documentation, mediation, and resolution of workplace issues
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures across all departments
  • Oversee wage and hour compliance, including payroll oversight and regulatory adherence
  • Monitor and oversee HR administrative functions such as Workers’ Compensation, Disability, FMLA, LOA, payroll, and benefits
  • Monitor employee morale and engagement; lead corporate initiatives such as Employee Engagement Surveys and Performance Management programs
  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning to support long-term workforce development
  • Collaborate with leadership to define departmental goals, objectives, and systems; recommend and implement organizational improvements
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and departmental reports
  • Participate in leadership meetings, corporate Monthly Business Reviews, and Weekly KPI sessions as needed
  • Lead annual reviews and training initiatives related to ethics, harassment, and workplace conduct
  • Supports merit and promotion cycles in alignment with performance and compensation strategies
  • Manage and maintain the Employee Handbook, ensuring timely updates and legal compliance
  • Design and execute training and development programs that align with short-, mid-, and long-term business objectives
  • Ensure continued access to developmental tools and resources for management and staff
  • Administer and manage UKG system modules, including approvals, reporting, and oversight
  • Manage the HR budget and ensure alignment with annual financial targets
  • Oversee new hire orientations and exit interviews to ensure smooth transitions and feedback collection
  • Provide support to staff in adapting to organizational change and personal/professional development
  • Partner with Operations Management in developing programs to increase and maintain associate productivity and retention
  • Actively seek Lean opportunities throughout the company and promote this philosophy with staff members
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and Contract Recruiter to support recruitment efforts across all positions


Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing employee customer service including assessments and audits, standards and benchmarks, evaluation of program effectiveness, and resolution of problems, bottlenecks, and deficiencies.
  • Knowledge of benefits, performance evaluation, and compensation plans; Understanding of individual performance, abilities, learning, and motivation; knowledgeable about agency laws and regulations relating to human resources (Federal, State, FLSA, EEO, etc.). Keep abreast of all rapid changes in compliance.
  • Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting including people, material, and equipment resource allocation; corporate and human resource policies and benefits; leadership; teaming; and production methods.
  • Ability to be “at the table” with the operations and executive team. Key subject matter expert in all matters regarding the talent base and change management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual is a high preference
  • Detailed, accurate, and organized; Ability to inform others about company benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels
  • Ability to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.


Travel Requirements:

<10% of travel required

Required Experience:

5+ years related experience and 1-2 years in a leadership role

1+ years of manufacturing industry experience


Level of Education:

Bachelor/Master’s Degree preferred

PHR or SPHR Preferred
