The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supports restaurant operations by providing day-to-day guidance on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices. This role partners closely with restaurant leadership and collaborates with the Lead HR Business Partner to address workplace concerns, conduct investigations, and implement HR programs.
The HRBP plays a key role in executing HR strategies, supporting a positive employee experience, and ensuring consistent application of company policies across assigned locations.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations (ER)

Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution

Conduct investigations into employee complaints, document findings thoroughly and accurately in HR systems

Partner with the Lead HRBP on complex or escalated cases, providing support and recommendations

Communicate investigation outcomes and next steps to employees and management in a clear and professional manner

Provide coaching to restaurant leaders on performance management, documentation, and appropriate disciplinary actions

Exercise sound judgment in evaluating risk, including when to escalate
Operational HR Partnership

Build strong relationships with restaurant leadership by providing clear, actionable recommendations to operators on employee relations matters, performance management, and team effectiveness

Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment law across assigned restaurants

Collaborate with the Lead HRBP and HR team to align on employee relations approaches and business priorities

Identify trends in employee concerns and escalate insights to the Lead HRBP for broader action planning
Training & Development

Facilitate HR training for restaurant managers, including employee relations, compliance, and leadership development topics

Support Management Training Programs through content delivery and reinforcement of HR best practices

Assist in the development of training materials and resources as needed
Compliance & HR Processes

Support unemployment claim responses, including documentation and preparation of managers for hearings

Assist with accommodation requests, documentation, and tracking in partnership with the Lead HRBP

Ensure accurate and timely documentation of employee relations cases and HR activities

Partner with internal teams to support onboarding, compliance, and HR system processes as needed
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of Employee Relations or HR management experience, ideally in multi-unit restaurants, hospitality, or retail.

Strong knowledge of ER, accommodations, and employment law.

Experience managing HR technology platforms (Paradox experience is a plus).

Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations.
