Human Resources Business Partner

Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Location: Austin, TX

Reports To: Director of HRBP


Position Summary

The HR Business Partner serves as the primary HR point of contact for plant leadership and front-line employees in a manufacturing environment. This role is highly execution-focused, managing day-to-day HR operations while driving employee relations, compliance, and workforce stability across a blue-collar population. The HRBP partners closely with supervisors and plant leadership to support production goals, maintain a positive work environment, and ensure consistent application of HR policies.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations (High Volume)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, including attendance, performance, disciplinary actions, and workplace conflicts
  • Conduct investigations and provide recommendations aligned with company policy and legal compliance
  • Coach supervisors on handling employee issues, documentation, and corrective actions

Transactional HR Execution

  • Manage day-to-day HR activities, including onboarding, offboarding, job changes, and employee documentation
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS systems
  • Support payroll coordination, timekeeping, and attendance tracking processes
  • Ensure timely processing of HR transactions with close attention to detail

Workforce Support (Blue-Collar Focus)

  • Provide floor-level HR support, regularly engaging with hourly employees and supervisors
  • Support shift-based operations, including flexibility for off-shift coverage as needed
  • Address workforce concerns quickly to minimize disruption to production

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, etc.)
  • Consistently apply company policies, union agreements (if applicable), and disciplinary procedures
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal/external audits

Performance Management

  • Support performance review processes for hourly and salaried employees
  • Partner with leadership on performance improvement plans (PIPs) and terminations
  • Drive accountability and consistency in performance management practices

Recruiting & Staffing Support

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on high-volume hiring needs
  • Participate in interviews and selection for hourly roles
  • Support onboarding and new hire integration to improve retention

HR Metrics & Reporting

  • Track and report on key metrics (turnover, absenteeism, headcount, open roles)
  • Identify trends and recommend actionable solutions to leadership


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong experience in employee relations and high-volume transactional HR
  • Experience supporting hourly/blue-collar workforce populations
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Experience with HRIS systems and timekeeping/payroll processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on, plant-floor environment
  • 50% Travel Required


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in unionized environments (if applicable)
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or Business-related.
