SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:

The Senior Human Resources Manager serves as a critical link between district objectives and employee management. This role is responsible for staffing and hiring. As a HR Business Partner member of the team, you will manage the HR needs of a designated portfolio—Staffing Zone 3 & 4.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The following outlines what your core duties and responsibilities will be for this position and provides a sample overview of what your day-to-day may look like.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintains a strong, positive working relationship with school principals and central office administrators to support the sourcing, assignment, and induction of high-quality candidates.
  • Supports principals in the planning for and assignment of educational staff, including projected vacancies, excess and transfer actions, long-term substitute teacher assignments, and other HR implications of the principal’s budgetary and staffing decision-making.
  • Conducts routine audits for increased assurances and verification of staffing levels, appropriate placements, certification and compensation of staff in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, requirements and school system staffing and budgetary allocations.
  • Utilizes data to make informed decisions and support administrators in human capital management.
  • Implements screening and selection procedures and finalizes candidate eligibility before final processing.
  • Guides new hires through the on-boarding process to ensure timely completion.
  • Assists the principal in analyzing relevant HR data regarding teacher quality, turnover, absenteeism, and other significant levers in improving workforce excellence.
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
  • Serves as liaison and support to all employees in staffing zones regarding a variety of HR issues that affect salary and payroll.

“Day In the Life” Overview

On a regular day, as the HR Business Partner, you might:

  • Perform routine audits of staffing workbooks to ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Review and process new hire recommendations, offer letters, and separations.
  • Provide guidance to Principals regarding District policies and licensure requirements.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in public administration, education, human resources management, business, management science, organizational behavior, or closely related field or minimum of five years related experience.
  • A minimum of five years of human resources management experience or related field
  • PHR, SPHR or equivalent credentialing preferred but not required
