Human Resources Coordinator

Longleaf Animal Hospital is seeking an organized, motivated, and people-focused HR Coordinator to help lead our growing veterinary hospital in Southern Pines, NC.This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of our team and administrative operations, allowing the Practice Manager to focus on business operations, growth initiatives, financial management, and strategic planning.The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable holding employees accountable, and enjoys helping build a positive and productive workplace culture.

ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources

  • Coordinate recruitment and hiring efforts
  • Schedule and conduct initial interviews
  • Manage onboarding and employee orientation
  • Maintain employee personnel files
  • Track employee certifications, licenses, and training requirements
  • Assist with performance reviews and employee development
  • Document employee coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions
  • Assist with conflict resolution and employee relations

Operations

  • Manage employee schedules and PTO requests
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels throughout the hospital
  • Assist department leads with staffing concerns
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate staff meetings and training initiatives
  • Monitor workplace compliance with company policies
  • Support client service excellence initiatives

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain employment records and documentation
  • Assist with benefits administration
  • Coordinate continuing education opportunities
  • Track employee acknowledgements and policy compliance
  • Assist with special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Medical HR experience
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Experience with employee scheduling
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Professional and positive attitude

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Human resources regulations
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or administrative experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
