The Human Resources Development Instructor is a part-time position located primarily in Union County. The hours for this position will be primarily from 8:00am-2:00pm Monday through Friday. Under the direction of the Human Resources Development Director, the Human Resources Development Instructor will provide instruction on employability skills, basic computer skills and financial literacy.

Essential Duties Summary
  • Teach organized courses in accordance with the Human Resources Development course description including resume writing, interviewing skills, career exploration, and communication skills.
  • Develop/update, implement and evaluate curriculum, instructional materials and methods of instruction
  • Communicate material in a positive and appropriate learning environment
  • Provide direct instruction, small group, and individualized educational activities for students
  • Use technology to support instruction
  • Maintain required paperwork including, but not limited to, registration forms, roster, attendance documents, lesson plans and time sheets
  • Organize and maintain class area, including physical facilities, equipment, inventory and materials in a professional manner
  • Comply with college policies, internal audit procedures, rules and regulations
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities, as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Development Director and Associate Vice President of Business and Workforce Solutions

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience teaching and/or training adult learners
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, e-mail and internet research
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work positively and cooperatively with students and co-workers

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree
  • One year teaching adult learners
  • Demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Personal and professional integrity that communicates a sense of mission, leadership and an ability to be self-motivated
  • An uncompromising commitment to student learning
