Overview
My client is seeking an experienced and people-focused
Director of Human Resources
to lead and evolve our HR function. This role is a strategic partner to the executive team and plays a critical role in shaping culture, driving engagement, ensuring compliance, and supporting the continued growth of our organization. The ideal candidate is hands-on, collaborative, and passionate about building strong teams in a positive, values-driven environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Partner with leadership and peers across the organization to promote alignment, foster a positive culture, and reinforce company values and goals.

Proactively develop and influence HR programs, policies, and practices that enhance employee engagement, reduce turnover, and ensure legal compliance.

Drive the talent agenda across corporate functions, including succession planning, career development initiatives, and innovative learning strategies.

Ensure all company procedures and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Manage and process payroll accurately and on time.

Collaborate with the executive team and external brokers on benefits and 401(k) plan selection, design, and administration.

Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.

Manage performance appraisal systems and participate in appraisal and feedback discussions.

Monitor employee performance metrics such as attendance, sick leave, and overall engagement.

Assess training needs and design, implement, and evaluate training and development programs.

Handle employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and formal grievances.

Set, review, and maintain compensation structures, perks, and benefits programs.

Partner with management on performance management initiatives and job description development and maintenance.

Review new hires monthly for ACA compliance and prepare FMLA documentation as needed.

Maintain employee benefits programs and clearly communicate benefits information to employees.

Ensure ongoing legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR laws and regulations.

Develop, update, and recommend HR policies, procedures, and management guidelines.

Maintain organizational staffing by leading recruiting, interviewing, counseling managers on candidate selection, conducting exit interviews, and recommending improvements.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
