HR Director

Location: Macon, GA
Position Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead all human resources functions at its plant in Macon, GA. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving HR strategy, building scalable systems, and supporting a high-performance, employee-focused culture in a dynamic production environment.

This opportunity is being managed by a direct hire recruiting firm on behalf of a global client.

Position Summary

The HR Director will serve as the senior HR leader on-site, partnering closely with plant leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives. This role will oversee all aspects of HR, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and organizational development.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in manufacturing environments and is comfortable working in union and/or labor-intensive settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute HR strategy in alignment with plant and corporate objectives
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to plant leadership and senior management
  • Oversee all HR functions including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, training, and compliance
  • Build and enhance HR systems, policies, and KPI-driven processes
  • Manage employee relations issues with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
  • Support labor relations activities, including union engagement and contract administration (if applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Drive organizational development initiatives, including leadership development and succession planning
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, diversity, and continuous improvement
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong experience in manufacturing or industrial environments required
  • Experience in union environments and/or labor relations strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement HR systems and processes
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in global or multi-cultural organizations is a plus

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
