G&W Display Fixtures and its affiliated companies are Michigan-based leaders in manufacturing, retail, and logistics. Together, we employ over 100 people across multiple facilities. We are currently building our HR infrastructure and seeking a hands-on Human Resources Director who is motivated to create structure, systems, and processes from the ground up.
Position Summary
This is a builder’s role. The Human Resources Director will design and implement HR systems, policies, and programs that support company growth across manufacturing and retail operations. The role balances day-to-day HR operations with strategic design work. We are looking for someone who is driven, collaborative, and eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and formalize HR policies, procedures, and documentation across all entities.
· Lead recruiting, onboarding, and retention programs for year-round and seasonal staff.
· Partner with leadership to design and implement pay-for-performance systems.
· Manage benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS data accuracy.
· Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (EEOC, FMLA, OSHA/MIOSHA, ESTA).
· Maintain ISO 9001 HR documentation for manufacturing operations.
· Implement performance evaluations tied to measurable goals.
· Provide leadership coaching, employee relations support, and conflict resolution.
· Track and report HR metrics including hiring, turnover, and engagement.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required (Master’s preferred).
· 4 to 8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1–2 years in a lead, generalist, or supervisory role.
· PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred; SPHR/SHRM-SCP a plus.
· Manufacturing or retail experience preferred; multi-site experience valuable.
· Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (MyPay Solutions, Paychex, ADP, or similar).
· Strong Microsoft Excel and analytics capabilities.
· Experience with ISO 9001 HR documentation preferred but not required.

Compensation and Benefits
· Salary: D.O.E.
· Annual performance bonus eligibility.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, some weekends as needed.
On-site presence required at Bronson and Coldwater facilities.
Occasional travel when needed.
