Position Summary

The HR Director & Growth/Outreach Coordinator is a dual-role leader responsible for managing day-to-day human resources operations and supporting business growth through caregiver recruiting outreach and community partnership development. This role is best suited for someone who is organized, approachable, and confident—someone who can strengthen internal systems while representing GIA externally in a professional, people-first way.

Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources (Primary)

  • Lead HR operations including recruiting support, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding
  • Maintain clear, compliant HR documentation (personnel files, training records, corrective actions, incident/complaint documentation as applicable)
  • Support leaders with coaching, conflict resolution, and consistent application of workplace expectations
  • Assist with scheduling/coordination of required trainings and compliance documentation
  • Support HRIS/payroll collaboration, benefits administration coordination, and leave tracking (as applicable)
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through staff communication, engagement, and recognition
  • Track and report key HR metrics (turnover, time-to-hire, retention, training completion)

Growth, Outreach & Community Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners and community organizations
  • Coordinate and attend job fairs, community events, and outreach activities to strengthen recruiting and brand presence
  • Support caregiver pipeline development through outreach, candidate follow-up, and improving the applicant experience
  • Help develop outreach materials and messaging (flyers, scripts, short presentations) in collaboration with leadership
  • Maintain an organized tracker/CRM-style log of outreach contacts, follow-ups, and outcomes

Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of progressive HR experience (healthcare, home care, or human services preferred)
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices: hiring/onboarding, documentation, employee relations, and performance management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust with staff at all levels
  • Comfortable representing the organization professionally in community settings
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; experience with HRIS/payroll systems is a plus
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred but not required

Work Environment & Requirements

  • On-site position in Massachusetts (regular local travel for outreach/events may be required)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Evening or occasional weekend outreach events may occur (scheduled in advance)

  • HR processes are organized, consistent, and supportive for staff and leaders
  • Hiring and onboarding workflows run smoothly with clear documentation
  • Employee concerns are addressed promptly and respectfully
  • Outreach activity produces measurable partner engagement and improves the recruiting pipeline
