Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys being hands-on and making an impact every day? We’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support our growing construction company with multiple locations in a union environment. In this role, you’ll manage all aspects of HR—from recruiting and onboarding to compliance, benefits, and employee relations.

You’ll serve as the go-to HR partner for both field and office staff, ensuring consistent HR practices and helping us maintain a positive, people-first culture. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates for open positions
  • Lead onboarding and employee engagement programs
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Administer HR programs, including performance management, employee relations, and training
  • Manage compliance training such as Sexual Harassment Prevention and OSHA training
  • Support payroll and benefits administration as needed
  • Participate in employee meetings, disciplinary actions, and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and legal updates
  • Handle other related HR tasks as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from a U.S.-accredited university
  • 3–5 years of HR experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry required
  • Knowledge of employment regulations, labor law compliance, union collective bargaining agreements and industry-standard HR practices
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working independently and maintaining confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with UKG a plus
  • SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to travel between job sites and facilities as needed
