About Us: Alvand Transportation is recognized as the fastest-growing and most professional transportation company in Southern California. We are currently seeking a responsible, dedicated, and proactive individual to join our team as a Humar Resources Generalist.

Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist provides day-to-day HR support to employees and management, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This position is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll support, and assisting in benefits administration. The HR Generalist serves as a key link between employees and management, maintaining a positive and compliant workplace culture while supporting all HR operations and initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist the HR Manager with daily HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance tracking.
Conduct recruitment activities such as job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and reference checks.
Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring completion of all required forms and training.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS and personnel files in compliance with state and federal requirements.
Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave of absence programs.
Support payroll processes by verifying employee hours, deductions, and changes to ensure accurate pay.
Assist in investigating employee complaints and disciplinary issues, preparing documentation, and recommending resolutions.
Conduct exit interviews and assist with offboarding procedures.
Prepare HR reports such as turnover metrics, headcount, and performance trends for management review.
Support the development and delivery of HR training programs related to safety, compliance, and professional development.
Participate in audits and ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
Promote company culture and employee engagement through participation in HR and organizational events.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices.
Experience using HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in the Transportation Industry is preferred but not required.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Primarily office-based with frequent interaction with staff, management, and external vendors.
Requires sitting for extended periods and frequent use of computers and telephones.
Occasional visits to fleet or operational sites to meet with managers and employees.
