Join our dynamic team at Coast Community College District as a Human Resources Generalist and play a pivotal role in supporting the future of education! District Human Resources serves as a strategic partner alongside our Board of Trustees, Chancellor, and college constituents to achieve the Coast Colleges' vision, mission, and goals. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will serve as the District's point-of-contact for the Employment Services Department, providing a wide range of essential functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee evaluations, benefits administration, and records management.
Summary
Coordinates and performs a wide range of administrative, technical, analytical, and consultative human resources functions for assigned areas. Areas of assignment may include several of the following functions: employee recruitment, employee onboarding and offboarding, employment services, benefits administration, HRIS, employee communications, and personnel records maintenance.
Distinguishing Career Features
The Human Resources Generalist is a technical position that requires application of specialized knowledge in assigned areas. The Human Resources Generalist provides a full range of administrative and technical duties in support of district-wide programs and services requiring a working knowledge of applicable human resources laws, policies, practices, and procedures. In addition, this position maintains high standards for confidentiality, customer service, and accurate input, maintenance, and retrieval of data within various HR systems. Subject matter knowledge is required to prepare reports, audit technical data, and provide employee orientations. Advancement to this position requires the ability to coordinate, interpret, apply, and effectively communicate the District’s systems, processes, policies and procedures for assigned area(s).
