Human Resources Generalist – Puget Sound Home Health and Hospice

Schedule: Full-time, on-site

What You Bring (Qualifications)
- Must have Workday experience; HCHB experience is a big plus
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- HR experience, must be in healthcare. Highly prefer home health/hospice agency experience
- Working knowledge of Federal and WA State employment laws and HR best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work on-site Monday–Friday in Tacoma
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
In this HR Generalist role, you will support daily HR operations for a home health, hospice, and palliative care organization. Duties include:
- Guide leaders and hiring managers on employment law, HR best practices, and orientation planning
- Provide support in dynamic, fast‑paced environments, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in the face of ambiguity
- Serve as a strong communicator across all levels of the organization
- Manage payroll and timekeeping processes for hourly, salary, per diem, pay‑per‑visit, and 1099 employees
- Assist with new‑hire onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation
- Maintain accurate employee files in compliance with HIPAA, state, and organizational policies
- Track licenses, credentials, training, and renewals to ensure compliance with deadlines
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures
- Develop and support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
- Maintain and update HRIS systems (Workday); prepare reports for audits and internal needs
- Collaborate closely with other members of the HR department to achieve organizational goals
