Human Resources Generalist

Partners Professional is currently seeking experienced Human Resources Generalist candidates for our customer located in Petersburg VA. The appropriate candidate will have two to five years in a people focused position and broad experience handling most HR duties within a smaller to mid-sized organization. The selected candidate will have a key role in the people and culture of this growing business, demonstrating a high level of trust, relationship building, service and collaboration. The HR Generalist must be able to balance the People oriented mindset with their primary responsibility to protect and support the company. This role will be onsite daily with the hours of 8-5 and is being offered as a temp-to-hire process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate employeerecords, policies, and HR documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state,and local employment regulations
  • Assist with payroll coordination, benefits administration, and HR reporting


Hiring and Onboarding:

  • Partner with leadership as needed to attract and select candidates who align with both job requirements
  • Coordinate interviews, Creating and editing job descriptions, posting and maintaining positionson job boards, screening applicants.
  • Communicating with management regarding openings, fills, and pipelines of candidates
  • Lead onboarding to ensure new hires are compliant and ready to begin
  • Effectively communicating policies, expectations, and companyvalues
  • Guidance with employeeforms and benefitsenrollment
  • Acquire new-hire documentation in accordance to state and federal law
  • Support audits, reporting, and risk mitigation related to HR practices
  • Maintain the employee’s and company’s compliance with up-to-date licensesand certifications
  • Record keeping of employee held credentials
  • Assisting new-hires in obtaining credentials
  • Coordinating with employees and management to ensure credentials are validated


Assistance in “Growing The Business”:

  • Help evolve HR processesand policies to support companygrowth, keeping them practical and scalable
  • Support performance review cycles, engagement initiatives, and retention efforts
  • Identify opportunities and contribute ideasthat strengthen communication, morale, and employee experience without compromising company standards


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources administration, assistant or generalist role
  • HRIS systems and HR reporting software
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, across all levels, written and verbal
  • Knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations and employment law fundamentals.
  • Experienced handling both hourly and salaried workforces
  • HR certification (PHR,SHRM-CP) preferred
  • Strong judgment, emotional and professional maturity, impartiality in challenging situations
