As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to support our people operations and help build scalable, compliant, and employee-centered HR practices.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist will serve as a key partner to leadership, managing day-to-day HR operations while ensuring compliance with California employment laws and supporting a high-performing legal team. This role is fully in-office and requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced, litigation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance on performance management, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation
- Conduct investigations and support disciplinary actions, terminations, and conflict resolution
- Partner with leadership to foster a compliant and positive work environment
Compliance & Policy Administration:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state (California), and local employment laws
- Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and SOPs
- Manage leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA, PDL, ADA accommodations) and ensure proper documentation
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Support full-cycle recruitment for administrative and legal staff
- Coordinate onboarding, new hire orientation, and training programs
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and hiring strategies
Performance Management & Training:
- Assist in performance review processes and compensation planning
- Support development of training programs for supervisors and staff
- Track and maintain compliance training (e.g., harassment prevention, workplace violence)
HR Operations & Administration:
- Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and reporting
- Coordinate benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications
- Support payroll coordination and ensure accuracy of employee data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–6+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of California employment law (critical)
- Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and leaves of absence
- Excellent communication, judgment, and discretion
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
