General Position Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for executing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department at IEA. This role focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality HR support across key functional areas including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, HR communications, and organizational development tools such as career ladders. The HR Generalist is a reliable, detail-oriented partner to associates and managers, ensuring HR processes run smoothly and in compliance with applicable requirements. This role operates within an established HR framework and has the opportunity to grow into broader HR responsibilities over time.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and execute the full onboarding process for new associates, including new hire paperwork, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, orientation scheduling, system setup, and first-day readiness.
· Manage the offboarding process for departing associates, including checklist coordination, benefits transition support, exit documentation, and system access deactivation in partnership with relevant departments.
· Administer and maintain the EASE benefits platform, serving as the primary point of contact for associate benefits questions and ensuring accurate enrollment and recordkeeping.
· Develop and maintain career ladder frameworks that support associate growth and provide clarity around progression across roles and departments.
· Draft and distribute company-wide HR communications including policy updates, benefit reminders, compliance notices, and organizational announcements.
· Support employee relations matters by providing frontline guidance and escalating complex issues to senior HR leadership as appropriate.
· Maintain accurate HR records and support compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
· Adapt to HR platform changes and support transitions as IEA evaluates and implements new HR systems and tools.
· Support the recruiting process by posting open positions, coordinating interviews, tracking candidate activity, and maintaining EEOC recordkeeping in compliance with federal requirements.
· Administer and track employee leave of absence requests including FMLA, Minnesota PFML, and other applicable leave types, ensuring proper documentation and timely communication with associates and managers.
· Maintain and update HR policies and the associate handbook, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with applicable laws and IEA’s organizational needs.

Education and Experience Requirements:
· B.S. in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational psychology, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with benefits administration platforms; familiarity with EASE or similar systems is a plus.
