JOB SUMMARY
This position provides administrative support to the VP of Human Resources and the Human Resources department on various human resources-related matters and assists in achieving the mission and goals of the organization. While the Human Resources Generalist assists in all areas of the Human Resources department, the primary responsibilities fall within work related to talent acquisition, onboarding orientation and total rewards (benefits, compensation, 401(k) administration). The position works independently to manage typical day-to-day human resources functions, specifically in ensuring the hiring process flows smoothly and timely, delivering excellent total rewards administration, facilitating professional onboarding of new hires and proper maintenance of the HRIS. This role partners closely with the Human Resources Benefits Partner on multiple HR processes and initiatives.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Human Resources Generalist does not supervise any positions.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Own and manage the full recruiting lifecycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing, communication, interview scheduling, and offer coordination
- Coordinate and administer pre-employment processes including background checks and drug screens
- Lead onboarding processes including new hire setup, communication, orientation facilitation, and system access coordination
- Verify I-9 documentation and maintain compliance with federal and organizational requirements
- Maintain and update HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy of employee data through routine audits and updates
- Manage employee lifecycle transactions including onboarding, offboarding, and system updates
- Coordinate offboarding processes including account deactivation and benefits-related actions
- Support benefits administration by tracking enrollments, assisting with employee questions, and coordinating with payroll and vendors
- Tracks, updates and communicates 401(k) administration
- Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with document retention and tracking requirements
- Coordinate compliance-related tracking including license verification and required documentation
- Respond to employee HR inquiries and provide timely, accurate support
- Assist with internal communications, employee engagement efforts, and recognition initiatives
- Ensures open enrollment runs smoothly and enters new information into the system
- Helps with upkeep of Human Resources SharePoint site
- Collaborates with VP of Human Resources on compensation philosophy and administration
- Facilitates and coordinates new hire orientation alongside Human Resources Business Partner
- Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity
PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide assistance in the advocacy of ShareHouse and represent the organization at outside meetings in a positive manner to increase awareness of and generate interest in program
- Schedules meetings and other events as requested by VP of Human Resources
- Assists or prepares department-related correspondence
- Assists VP of Human Resources with various research projects and/or special projects
- Serve on committees as assigned by the VP of Human Resources
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires 2-year (Associate’s) degree or 2 year certification from technical college in related field such as Human Resources, Business Administration or Management, or similar area of study; and
- Two years’ work-related experience; or
- High school diploma and four years’ related experience
- Experience in Human Resources position preferred
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
- May be required to possess and maintain valid driver license and be able to be insured according to company insurance standards

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in an environment with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.
Compensation for this position is based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
