As our firm continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced, organized, and people-focused HR Generalist to help lead and strengthen HR operations across our multi-office organization.
Position Overview
The HR Generalist will play a critical role in supporting daily HR operations, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and organizational development initiatives. This position works closely with leadership, department heads, and the Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure operational consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience across all office locations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations and HR-related matters
- Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager on recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee integration initiatives
- Assist with onboarding processes across multiple office locations
- Manage offboarding processes across multiple offices, including occasional travel as needed
- Coordinate orientation logistics, onboarding documentation, and electronic onboarding workflows
- Process and maintain employment verification documentation, including E-Verify compliance requirements
- Administer employee benefits, leave requests, personnel records, and HR documentation
- Process employee status changes and payroll-related updates through Paychex
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, policies, and HR best practices
- Assist with HR audits, personnel file reviews, compliance tracking, and process standardization
- Support performance management processes, coaching documentation, and employee development initiatives
- Coordinate firmwide training initiatives, policy acknowledgments, and compliance certifications
- Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential HR records and reporting
- Partner with leadership on HR strategy, operational improvements, and employee experience initiatives
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR Generalist experience required
- Experience with onboarding, employee lifecycle management, and offboarding processes required
- Experience with E-Verify and electronic onboarding systems strongly preferred
- Prior HR audit and compliance experience strongly preferred
- Previous law firm or professional services experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations practices
- Experience with Paychex required
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and emotional intelligence
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-office environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Travel Requirement
Occasional travel between office locations, including Albany, Saratoga, Syracuse, and Rochester, will be required for onboarding, offboarding, training, and HR support purposes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $65,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience
