POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of the OdySea Aquarium human resources team, this position is responsible for supporting goals and strategies to make OdySea Aquarium to be the most desirable place to work. This position implements policies and programs encompassing all aspects of human resource management including employment, wage and salary administration, benefits, and talent/organizational development.
Human Resources

Serves as the Human Resources generalist and internal consultant to the leadership team.

Supports workforce recruiting strategy, design and execution to ensure strong retention, talent development, succession planning and effective recognition programs.

Reviews and makes recommendations to the leadership team concerning improvements to policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.

Maintains knowledge of industry trends; employment legislation and ensures compliance.

Support role in managing all aspects of the employee life cycle (human resources and benefits operations, employee relations, recruiting, training and development, organizational development, etc.)

Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all team members; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.

Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.

Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

Oversees benefits operations and administration including, but not limited to, claims resolution, change reporting, approving payment invoices and communicating all benefits information to applicable employees.

Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt team members, conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements.

Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.

Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

Maintains OdySea Aquarium organization charts and the employee directory.

Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

Maintains human resources information system records and complies reports from the database.

Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Assists in overseeing processes and metrics to assure diversity, efficiency, and continuous alignment with business objectives.

Recommends, evaluates, and participates in talent development for OdySea Aquarium.

Assesses organizational development needs to design, implement, manage and evaluate learning and performance strategies and processes.

Assists managers with the design and strategy for learning and development in their area.

Responsible for assisting the HR Director in the talent pool process to include recruiting, on boarding, succession planning, executive development, employee assessments and career planning.

Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of at least 3-5 years in Human Resources.
-
Experience in organizational development strategy and techniques.
-
Large scale start up experience within the hospitality, theme park and/or cultural attraction desired.
-
Cash handling business experience desired.
-
PHR or SPHR certification desired.
