The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) serves as a strategic partner supporting the HR needs of a rapidly growing organization at a single California warehouse facility. This role works closely with on‑site leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives in a fast‑paced, highly regulated employment environment. The HRG must be knowledgeable in both federal and California state employment laws, including wage‑and‑hour rules, CFRA, paid sick leave, mandatory training, posting requirements, and other compliance obligations.
This position requires a proactive and detail‑oriented HR professional capable of managing employee relations, performance, and compliance, while fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment. The HRG also supports payroll accuracy through coordination with the payroll team. The ideal candidate is bilingual (Spanish/English) and excels at building strong relationships with a diverse California workforce.

Partner with on‑site leadership to understand HR needs and provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and policy adherence.

Lead and support organizational change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and employee engagement during transitions.

Manage daily HR responsibilities and competing priorities in a fast‑paced work environment.

Serve as a bilingual (Spanish/English) resource to support communication, investigations, and resolution of employee relations concerns.

Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding, ensuring compliance with California requirements such as Wage Theft Prevention Act notices and required workplace postings.

Maintain accurate HRIS records and resolve pay‑related inquiries promptly.

Develop solutions for facility‑specific challenges related to staffing, engagement, retention, and workforce performance.

Facilitate open communication channels between employees and leadership to maintain a positive and inclusive environment.

Ensure compliance with California employment regulations, including:

State minimum wage and daily overtime rules

Meal and rest break requirements

Paid sick leave, CFRA, and other required leaves

Anti‑harassment and workplace violence prevention training

Local city/county wage ordinances, if applicable

Prepare HR reports (turnover, headcount, etc.) to support workforce planning.

Coordinate and support annual open enrollment and benefits communication.

Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

3+ years of HR Generalist or similar experience; warehousing, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of federal and California state employment laws.

Experience supporting HR operations within a single facility or similar environment.

Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to walk the warehouse floor regularly to engage with staff and observe working conditions.

Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, and documentation.

Based fully at our California warehouse facility, working in both an office environment and on the warehouse floor.
