The Early Childhood Education and Care Department was established on July 1, 2020. The Department's aim is to create a more cohesive, equitable, and effective early childhood system in New Mexico. That means coordinating a continuum of programs from prenatal to five¿and ensuring that families in every corner of the state can access the services they need.

Why does the job exist?

This position works collaboratively with the Human Resources (HR) Supervisor, HR Manager, and team members across the HR Bureau to provide a broad range of HR services, guidance, and support to the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD). Key responsibilities include managing and executing complex HR functions such as HR transactions, recruitment, timekeeping, and employee benefits.
How does it get done?

This position involves supporting key functions such as employee benefits, recruitment, and processes related to hiring, termination, and staffing. It focuses on optimizing the use of HR-related programs and services. The position requires efficient use of the SHARE HCM system for data management and Microsoft Office tools to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, it entails reviewing and interpreting departmental and state policies to ensure compliance and proper execution.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in any field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required.
