Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Generalist / Safety Specialist to join our team and drive our commitment to a safe, compliant, and engaging workplace. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for managing human capital initiatives, ensuring adherence to employment and labor laws, fostering employee relations, and implementing safety programs that promote a secure environment. Your energetic approach will help shape our organizational culture, support talent development, and streamline HR operations across departments. Responsibilities

  • Human Resources (60%)
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and new-hire documentation.
  • Maintain employee records, HRIS data accuracy, and confidential files.
  • Support employee relations by providing guidance, coaching, and conflict-resolution assistance.
  • Administer benefits, leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, workers’ compensation coordination), and insurance updates.
  • Work with supervisors to ensure timely performance reviews (30/60/90 days and annual).
  • Process separations, prepare termination documentation, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate training sessions, track attendance, and maintain required HR and safety training records.
  • Assist in policy updates, communication memos, and employee handbook updates.
  • Generate HR reports and support audits

Safety (40%)

  • Lead and support workplace safety programs, meetings, and initiatives.
  • Conduct safety orientations for new hires and ongoing safety training.
  • Perform regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job-specific evaluations (PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout awareness, etc.).
  • Maintain OSHA logs, incident records, and workers’ compensation documentation.
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations; provide root-cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety policies.
  • Promote a safety culture by engaging employees and supervisors in best practices.
  • Monitor safety metrics and prepare monthly/quarterly reports.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of HR experience; safety experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, workers’ comp, etc.).
  • Understanding of OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations and incident reporting requirements.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to conduct training and speak to groups with confidence.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or similar environment (customize as needed).
  • Requires walking production floors, conducting inspections, and interacting with all levels of staff.

Pay: $71,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
