INTERN TITLE: Human Resources Intern
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Organizational Development Manager
DAYS/HOURS: Tuesday - Friday (25-28 hours)
LOCATION: Fort Lauderdale Campus

Mission of Human Resources:
The Human Resources department is passionate about changing the world for Jesus through supporting the Staff body in all things HR. We strive to protect the Bride of Christ in unique ways by ministering and adhering to the church HR policies and procedures. These policies and procedures are not only in place to protect our team members and the church, but more importantly they are a part of the discipleship and leadership growth process of our staff and volunteers.
Role of Human Resources Intern:
1. Recruitment Assistance:
- Help post job openings on job boards, social media, or company websites.
- Assist in reviewing resumes and applications.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews with candidates.
- Communicate with candidates regarding the status of their applications.
2. Employee Onboarding:
- Assist with the preparation of new hire documentation, including contracts and benefits forms.
- Help organize orientation programs for new employees.
- Ensure new hires have everything they need to get started (e.g., access to systems, equipment, etc.)
3. Employee Records and Documentation:
- Maintain and update employee records in HR software or databases.
- Assist with filing and organizing employee paperwork (e.g., contracts, performance reviews, etc.)
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
4. Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Assist in processing payroll by collecting timecards or attendance data.
- Help manage employee benefits, like health insurance enrollment or changes.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll or benefits.
5. Training and Development Support:
- Assist in organizing training sessions or workshops.
- Help track employee progress and attendance for mandatory or optional training programs.
6. Employee Engagement and Welfare:
- Help organize company events, team-building activities, or wellness programs
- Assist in surveys or feedback collection to gauge employee satisfaction.
7. HR Projects and Research:
- Support HR Manager, Organizational Development Manager and HR Coordinators with various projects, such as policy updates, diversity initiatives, or performance evaluations.
- Conduct research on HR best practices or labor laws to assist the team in making informed decisions.
8. General Administrative Support:
- Answer phone calls or emails related to HR inquiries.
- Manage or assist with scheduling meetings and appointments.
- Handle general office duties like photocopying, filing, and preparing reports.

- Gain proficiency in maintaining accurate employee records, managing HR documentation, and supporting compliance with legal and company policies.
- Learn the basics of payroll processing, benefits administration, and how to effectively respond to employee inquiries and needs.
- Build skills in organizing training programs, tracking development activities, and supporting employee engagement through events and feedback tools.
- Strengthen administrative capabilities and professional communication by managing HR-related correspondence, scheduling, and office support tasks.

Work Schedule:
Tuesday: 8:30a - 4:30p
Wednesday: 8:30a - 4:30p
Thursday: 9:00a - 4:30p (Staff huddle from 9a - 10:15 and HR Team Bible Study from 1p - 2p)
Friday: 9a - 2p (Intern Cohort)
- Hours and days may vary depending on campus-wide events taking place. Additionally, you may have to bend, sit, or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift, pull, push and/or move up to 35 lbs.
