Position Overview:
The HR Manager, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, will be the primary contact for aligning business objectives with employees and management. Responsibilities include serving as the change agent of strategies, programs and policies, onboarding, payroll and HRIS administration, performance management, employee engagement, legal compliance, and company-wide standard communications.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee hiring process from start to finish including creating and posting job descriptions, conducting interviews, prompt background checks and drug screens for potential employees, performing all onboarding procedures as required by law
- Partner with company leaders to support long term strategies surrounding hiring, retention, and development of the workforce
- Administer benefit programs including health, disability, and 401K
- Processing of bi-weekly payroll
- Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages
- Prepare supervisors for semi-annual and annual performance review sessions
- Promote and encourage employee engagement through programs and events designed to improve workplace culture
- Provide coaching and support to management on all people related matters
- Support management and employees to resolve workplace issues
- Process HRIS transactions: new hires, job changes, COBRA, FMLA, Disability, Life Insurance, and other personnel matters
- Keep employee records up to date and accurate with all changes including attendance, benefits, reviews, etc.
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation
- Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions along with salary records
- Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field; or equivalent education/work experience
- SHRM/HRCI Certification preferred
- 3 plus years of successful Human Resources experience at the HR Generalist or Manager level
- HR Experience in a production/warehouse environment preferred
- Knowledge of payroll systems required, TruPay experience is a plus
- Attention to Detail – Accurate Entries
- Must have current knowledge of Federal, State, and City laws that affect this facility

- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other related applications or software
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple business partners at all levels
