Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Human Resource Manager to oversee all HR functions at our NGO in Kochi. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth HR operations, support staff recruitment and welfare, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and employment laws. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to manage both administrative and human aspects of NGO operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment and Onboarding
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for Social Workers and administrative personnel.
- Prepare and update job descriptions, handle job postings, and coordinate interviews.
- Conduct background checks and credential verifications.
- Organize induction and orientation programs for new staff.
2. HR Operations and Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records, attendance, and leave registers.
- Supervise payroll preparation and coordinate with accounts for timely disbursement.
- Ensure proper implementation of HR policies, NGO rules, and code of conduct.
- Handle employment letters, confirmations, and exit formalities.
3. Employee Relations and Welfare
- Promote a positive work culture with focus on teamwork, empathy, and respect.
- Address staff grievances and support conflict resolution through fair practices.
- Plan and implement staff welfare and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure discipline and punctuality across departments while maintaining sensitivity to work culture dynamics.
4. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, ESI, PF, Gratuity, POSH and other statutory regulations.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections, audits, and licensing.
- Maintain confidentiality of staff and NGO-related information.
- Liaise with government bodies and consultants as needed.
5. Performance Management and Training
- Develop and monitor performance appraisal systems for all staff.
- Identify training needs and coordinate skill development programs.
- Support department heads in goal-setting and evaluation processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 4–6 years of HR experience, preferably in an NGO or healthcare organization.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, compliance, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, HR software, and documentation management.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and handle pressure calmly.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, on-site position
- Availability during emergencies or staff issues may occasionally be required
