Icarus Medical is an outcomes-focused, dynamic, and high-growth med-tech company committed to helping people with joint pain live more active and healthy lives. Our technology bridges patented advances in medical devices, software, and additive manufacturing to yield a new class of functional orthopedic bracing that is disrupting the industry.

Our company values creative thinking, risk-taking, and collaboration. We bring together medical experts, industry leaders, engineers, and sales professionals to create a unique work ecosystem, driven by our mission to enable people to stay active, free from joint pain.

About the Job

The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the Icarus leadership team, responsible for cultivating a thriving culture, driving recruitment and retention, and ensuring smooth HR operations as the company scales. This individual will manage the full employee lifecycle — from talent acquisition and onboarding through performance management, training, and engagement — while helping shape Icarus’ culture as a highly sought-after employer in the med-tech industry.

You will partner closely with leadership across departments to forecast hiring needs, develop recruitment pipelines, and implement scalable HR systems that support a rapidly growing organization.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an energetic, people-driven leader with a passion for technology-driven impact, dynamic culture, rapid growth, and operational excellence. The right candidate thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, is deeply organized, and brings both empathy and strategic rigor to the HR function.

You are a builder — of teams, of systems, and of culture. You know how to balance tactical execution with big-picture strategy and enjoy working with diverse stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and operations. You are a strong communicator, proactive problem-solver, and a champion for our mission and our people.

If you are motivated by helping teams thrive and want to make a tangible impact in a company that’s changing lives, we’d love to meet you.

What You Will Work On

  • Talent Acquisition & Pipeline Management: Manage recruitment across all departments, develop sourcing strategies, build partnerships, and ensure high-quality hires.
  • Onboarding, Training & Culture: Own onboarding, build out the Icarus University and LMS, coordinate training initiatives, and lead culture events.
  • Performance & Development: Manage employee review process, goal setting, and performance metrics while supporting professional growth in collaboration with department managers.
  • Operations & Compliance: Administer payroll, PTO, and benefits; maintain policies; and ensure HR compliance.
  • Culture & Employer Branding: Foster inclusion, represent Icarus at recruiting events and trade shows, and support internal communications.

Who You Will Work With

You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, while collaborating closely with the CEO, department heads, and team leads across Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Marketing. You will also partner with external HR, legal, and benefits providers as needed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field (required)
  • Experience in recruiting and building high-performing teams
  • 3–7 years of HR experience in a fast-paced or high-growth environment (preferred: med-tech, biotech, or manufacturing sector)
  • Understanding of employment laws, HR compliance, and payroll administration
  • Experience building HR processes, performance systems, and employee training frameworks from the ground up
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, foster collaboration, and manage confidential information with discretion to navigate challenging personnel situations
  • Prior startup or high-growth company experience (strongly preferred)
