Human Resources Manager – Trenton (Onsite)
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and solutions-oriented
HR Manager
to oversee all HR functions and support the effective and efficient operations of our organization. This position is 100% onsite and best suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and has deep experience managing unionized workforces.
Experience processing union payroll is required. Please only apply if you have this experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all HR functions, ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and union contracts.

Oversee and drive the implementation of a new payroll system; must be fully experienced with
union payroll requirements, deductions, dues, and reporting
.

Maintain accurate and confidential HR files, records, and documentation.

Conduct or oversee background checks, eligibility verification, and new hire onboarding.

Serve as the primary resource for employee questions related to policies, benefits, procedures, and union matters.

Administer and execute HR programs including: compensation, benefits, leave management, performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, recognition programs, safety, and training/development.

Conduct audits of HR data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Develop and implement a training plan for staff across departments.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required

Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience

Union experience required
, including
hands-on union payroll experience

Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems; payroll system implementation strongly preferred

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
-
Proven ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
