POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager, Division HR supports the local retail division with several locations in all aspects of Human Resources programs, practices, and strategy. This includes oversight of programs related to:

  • Employee Relations
  • Recruiting, Staffing, and Employment
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Education and Training
  • Policy Implementation and Enforcement
  • Legal Compliance
  • Record Retention

The Manager HR serves as a leader in change management and influences senior division leaders to drive results and achieve strategic goals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Program Implementation & Support
  • Successfully implement and support HR programs and initiatives, including annual processes (benefits, compensation, performance management, education).
  • Execute new training and compliance programs, employee engagement and development initiatives, and other projects as communicated by VP/Director of HR or corporate departments.
  • Ensure alignment of programs to support both employees and leaders.
Leadership & Influence
  • Direct and influence Division/Supply Chain leaders and business partners to support, grow, and drive new initiatives.
  • Act as a resource to leadership for coaching, counseling, and support on matters related to employee performance, career development, discipline, and conflict resolution.
Compliance & Legal Oversight
  • Manage and oversee compliance matters including enforcement of state, federal, or provincial laws and regulations.
  • Ensure wage and hour compliance, adherence to Company policies, and codes of conduct related to people management.
  • Represent the Company in compliance-related matters as needed.
Employment & Talent Management
  • Support all employment-related functions including:
    • Recruitment and staffing
    • Onboarding and training
    • Employee engagement and incentive programs
    • Mentoring and succession planning
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred (or equivalent experience)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of generalist experience in Human Resources
  • Additional 2+ years in HR management

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong change management and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to lead, motivate, innovate, and demonstrate integrity and courage
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations and laws (including unionized environments where applicable)
  • Proven customer service skills and experience
  • Strong track record of leading HR functions
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Pay Transparency:



Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.


  • For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
