Position Overview: The Human Resources Manager leads and directs the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. This role maintains a significant focus on facilitating and addressing employee relations and performance management issues, assisting with the training and development of our Leaders, facilitating all facets of the leave management process, reviewing, assisting with interpretations, and executing the termination process following company policies and procedures. This role will also assist as a backup support resource for our California locations.
While this role has focal points today, assignments are subject to change based on the needs of the business. The incumbent should be able and willing to assist in all facets of Human Resources as needed. The Human Resources Manager reports to the Senior Vice President Human Resources and supports and drives efforts across the Enterprise.
Essential Job Functions:

Provide support and guidance to other HR team members, management, and staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations, and terminations

Facilitates all aspects of the leave management process, including FMLA, LOA, and ADA compliance, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to include California, and recommended best practices; provide counsel and training to management on the administration of HR-related company policies and procedures

Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

Assist with the application of policies and procedures across an organization; interprets both policies and changes to policy

Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed

Manage and monitor unemployment claims, appeals, and charges

Support and partner on HR training programs to include facilitating learning and development programs, and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

5+ years of human resources management experience

Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Demonstrated leadership experience

Ability to work effectively both collaboratively within a team environment and independently, ensuring productivity and strong outcomes in either setting

Strong internal and external customer service focus with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously focused on results
