Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Manager at our manufacturing plant in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading all HR functions at a non‑union manufacturing facility. This role serves as a partner to plant leadership while also providing hands-on support across employee relations, staffing, compliance, performance management, and training and development. The HR Manager ensures a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with all employment laws and supporting operational goals.

Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, discipline, and performance management
- Foster a positive and respectful workplace culture aligned with company values
- Coach supervisors and managers on effective people management, documentation, and communication
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried manufacturing roles
- Partner with plant leadership to forecast workforce needs and develop staffing strategies
- Build relationships with local schools, trade programs, and community organizations to support talent pipelines
- Oversee onboarding and orientation to ensure new hires are successfully integrated
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support
- Communicate benefits programs in accordance with company policies
- Partner with corporate HR and payroll to ensure accurate employee data, timekeeping, and pay practices
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Lead or support audits, reporting, and compliance trainings
- Monitor policies and practices to maintain non‑union status through strong employee relations
HR Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on organizational change, workforce challenges, and culture initiatives
- Support company-wide HR initiatives and implement them effectively at the plant level
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Proven experience handling employee relations and performance management
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting
Preferred
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
- Experience supporting multi-shift operations
