Job Description:

Directs and manages all aspects of the Department and participates in company-wide management. Oversees Kokatat's investment in people. Assures compliance with human resources regulations and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

•Directs day to day operations of the Human Resources Dept.

• Supervises and Directs Human Resources staff and their job functions.

• Provides HR support and information to directors, managers, supervisors, and employees.

• Oversees preparation of payroll and payment of associated taxes.

• Maintains Employee Handbook, assuring compliance with legal requirements.

• Oversees and administers employee benefit programs, worker's comp, and leaves of

absence.

• Oversees compensation benefit programs, including 401k and health insurance.

• Oversees compliance with required benefit programs, including workers compensation

insurance and unemployment insurance. Primary contact for external records auditors.

• Reviews and makes suggestions for managing risk.

• Responsible for department efficiency and productivity. Provides leadership and sets a good

example for all employees.

• Collaborates and assists in creation, revision and enforcement of company policies.

• Oversees and manages personnel actions including hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary

actions, problem solving, transfers, and terminations.

• Ensures compliance with Safety policies and oversees review and investigation of accidents,

illness or injuries.

• Oversees employee training and recording of training records.

• Participates in regular staff meetings.

• Establishes competence with Kokatat business software systems.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Three years’ experience in Human Resources practices and compliance at the supervisory or

management level in an organizational unit with multiple employees required.

• High degree of computer skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Ability to exercise sound judgement within the constraints of general policy guidelines

• Able to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours per day
• Constant and repetitive movement of fingers, hands, and wrists
