Description
UAB Hospital Maintenance is looking for a Human Resources Partner Administrator to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the employees who keep our hospital facilities running every day. You’ll be on-site and hands-on, working closely with our maintenance staff, leadership team, and HR partners to ensure HR processes are smooth, supportive, and effective.

Essential Accountabilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manages the hiring process from posting through orientation, including scheduling interviews, processing background checks, and onboarding new employees.
- Employee Relations & HR Support: Serve as a first point of contact for employees, maintain documentation, assist with investigations, and provide day-to-day HR support.
- Leave Administration: Tracks FMLA, OJI, ADA, and other leaves of absence, including return-to-work updates, and provides accurate reporting to managers.
- Performance Management: Helps coordinate probationary reviews and annual evaluations, ensuring deadlines and compliance are met.
- Training & Compliance: Tracks required training, certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, NICET, etc.), and regulatory requirements to keep us in compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards.
- HR Data & Reporting: Maintains HRIS data integrity, prepares workforce reports (turnover, attendance, FTE counts), and supports compliance audits.
- Employee Safety & Compliance: Ensures safety-related training and certifications remain valid, coordinates with leadership on corrective actions tied to regulatory requirements, and maintains readiness for Joint Commission and CMS surveys.
- Policy & Procedure Coordination: Interprets and applies both Campus and Hospital HR policies and procedures.
- Office & Interview Coordination: Organizes interviews, candidate visits, career fairs, and provides general HR administrative support.
Compensation:
- Hourly pay range for this classification: $19.80 – $25.75 – $32.15
- Starting offers will not necessarily begin at the midpoint or maximum of the range. Offers are determined by relevant experience (both UAB/UAB Medicine and external), pay grade minimums, internal equity, departmental budget, UAB salary guidelines, and the salaries of incumbents in the classification.

Work Schedule:
- This position is on-site, Monday through Friday, with a work schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (subject to change to meet departmental needs).
- The role is designated as essential personnel. Essential personnel are required to report during emergency situations, such as inclement weather, regardless of University closure. Employees should be prepared to travel to work during these situations, emphasizing the critical nature of their responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education experience.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver’s license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics:
- Ability to interpret and apply both Campus and Hospital policies.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences; excellent interpersonal abilities to build trust and effective working relationships across the organization.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage high-volume workflows across multiple hospital sites, balance competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR-related systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, while following established policies and procedures.
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, organizational development, and change management preferred.
