Compensation & Salary Range

This position is assigned to Wage Grade 340 (WG.340) with a full Compensation-approved range of $47,665 – $77,455 annually (midpoint $61,965).

Final offers will be made within this grade range based on the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and the department’s budgeted amount for the role. Applicants whose stated salary expectations fall outside the posted grade range may not be considered.

  • Position Summary

    In collaboration with Human Resources (HR) functional leaders and in support of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Human Resources Support Lead will lead and coordinate HR functions and support activities. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, supporting university-wide projects, and supervising a small team.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and coordinate HR functions and activities within the HR Service Center.
    • Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries (in person, via phone, or email), resolving routine issues or directing more complex matters to appropriate teams.
    • Maintain and monitor CHRO and ASKHR email accounts; track responses and follow-up needs using Freshdesk software.
    • Provide detailed statistical feedback, reports, and analysis to support operations and productivity improvement.
    • Assist with special HR projects such as the Annual Space Survey and other institution-wide initiatives.
    • Supervise 1–3 direct reports.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, Communications, or a related field such as Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
Note: Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.

Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of related experience in areas such as:

  • Human Resources operations or administration
  • HR customer service or help desk support
  • HR systems or HRIS
  • Data reporting and analysis in a human resources context
  • Project coordination within HR or administrative units
  • Supervisory or team lead experience in a professional setting

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel)
  • High attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to change
