We’re looking for an experienced Building Automation Controls Specialist to support installation, programming, commissioning, and service of HVAC automation systems in the Mobile, Alabama region. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining building automation technologies that improve HVAC performance, energy efficiency, and system reliability across commercial and institutional facilities.
The position involves hands-on work with modern Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control networks while collaborating with engineers, electricians, and project managers during installation and troubleshooting activities. The technician will play a key role in system startup, commissioning, diagnostics, and long-term operational support.

Responsibilities
- Install and commission building automation controllers, sensors, and HVAC control devices at project sites
- Program, configure, and update BAS logic using platforms such as Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric systems
- Integrate automation systems using communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for BAS-controlled HVAC equipment
- Assist with system modernization, automation upgrades, and retrofit projects for existing facilities
- Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control documentation to verify proper installation
- Generate commissioning reports, service logs, and as-built documentation
- Provide technical guidance and operational support to facility personnel and project stakeholders
- Collaborate with construction teams and engineering staff during project installation and completion phases
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience with building automation systems or HVAC control technologies- Practical knowledge of BAS platforms such as Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric
- Ability to read electrical schematics, control diagrams, and installation documentation
- Experience installing and terminating low-voltage control wiring
- Familiarity with BAS communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks
- Strong troubleshooting skills related to HVAC controls and automation networks
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to project sites
- Strong communication skills for working with clients and project teams
Preferred Experience
- Niagara N4 certification or manufacturer BAS training credentials
- Experience working with building energy management systems or monitoring dashboards
- Basic understanding of IP networking, switches, and BAS connectivity
- Experience supporting BAS upgrades, system retrofits, or integration projects
