HVAC Duct Fabricator
Job Overview
Mural Industrial Staffing is seeking an experienced HVAC Duct Fabricator on behalf of a well-established heating and air conditioning provider in the York, Nebraska area.
This is a hands-on, shop-based role responsible for fabricating sheet metal ductwork used in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The position plays a critical role in supporting installation teams by ensuring high-quality, accurately built duct systems are ready for field deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shop drawings, cut sheets, and layout specifications
- Fabricate rectangular and round ductwork to specification
- Build duct fittings including elbows, transitions, offsets, and reducers
- Operate shop equipment including plasma table, shear, brake, and related machinery
- Assemble duct using industry-standard methods including TDC/TDF and slip & drive connections
- Install turning vanes and complete finishing work on fabricated pieces
- Use hand tools and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and quality
- Move materials and finished products using a forklift as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily and weekly production goals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5+ years of HVAC duct fabrication or sheet metal experience
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication layouts
- Hands-on experience with plasma cutting and standard sheet metal shop equipment
- Knowledge of duct fabrication methods including:
- TDC/TDF connections
- Slip & drive systems
- Turning vane installation
- Strong measurement and basic math skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented shop environment
- Reliable, consistent attendance and ability to meet production expectations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience fabricating duct for both residential and commercial HVAC systems
- Forklift experience or certification
- Familiarity with shop workflow and production scheduling
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
