Qualifications
-
BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering .
Experience Required
Minimum 5+ years of solid, hands-on experience in HVAC design, especially within:
-
Desalination Plants , Effluent Treatment Plants , Refineries & Power and Process Industries
Key Responsibilities
-
HVAC System Design:
-
Perform detailed heat load/cooling load calculations, airflow design, and head loss calculations for primary and secondary pumping systems.
-
Design HVAC systems including equipment sizing and selection (e.g., chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VRFs, ventilation fans).
-
Plan and optimize ductwork layouts, piping networks (chilled water, condenser water, hot water, refrigerant, VRF), and HVAC control strategies.

Prepare design basis reports, concept design drawings, and detailed engineering drawings/specifications.

Technical Documentation & Procurement:
-
Prepare Bills of Quantity (BOQ), Technical Specifications, Request for Quotations (RFQs), and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs).

Review and comment on vendor engineering documentation, ensuring alignment with design intent and specifications.
-
Coordinate with procurement and vendors to expedite documentation, manufacturing, and site work completion.

Compliance & Standards:
-
Ensure full compliance with local, state, and national building codes, as well as international design standards including ASHRAE, SMACNA, DW, BS, NFPA, and SBC.

Maintain high quality and safety standards throughout the engineering process.

Coordination & Client Interaction:
-
Collaborate with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary project teams to define HVAC requirements and design objectives.

Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, and vendors.
-
Conduct site visits and vendor workshop inspections as required.

Proficiency in HVAC calculation and design software, including:

HAP (Hourly Analysis Program)

Navisworks

AutoCAD
-
Equipment Selection Tools (various OEM platforms)

Strong understanding of energy-efficient system design and sustainability principles in HVAC applications.

Capable of space planning for HVAC plant rooms and major components like AHUs and fans.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

Ability to manage deadlines and work across multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced project environments.
