HVAC Engineer (TAB)
Core Responsibilities
Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB):
- Measure and fine-tune air and water flow rates in HVAC systems.
- Ensure systems deliver the correct volume of air or water to each zone.
- Identify inefficiencies and correct imbalances that affect comfort and energy usage.
HVAC Commissioning:
- Verify that systems are installed correctly and meet design intent.
- Conduct performance tests to ensure optimal operation.
- Document deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
System Diagnostics:
- Perform sound and vibration analysis to detect equipment faults.
- Conduct duct leakage testing to prevent energy loss and pressurization issues.
- Use thermographic inspection to identify electrical or insulation problems.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure systems meet local codes and standards (e.g., QCDD in Qatar).
- Prepare detailed TAB reports for consultants and clients.
- Collaborate with contractors and facility managers to resolve issues.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and airflow dynamics.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., NEBB, AABC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
- Certification in TAB procedures and thermography (e.g., ITC Level 1).
- Proficiency in using tools like flow hoods, manometers, and data loggers.
- UPDA/QCDD Certification
