Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for HVAC construction projects.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Develop bid strategies and identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from award through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and forecasts.
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Track project progress and proactively address issues impacting cost or schedule.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies.
• Lead project meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Support smooth handoff between estimating and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC estimating and/or project management.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., FastPIPE, Trimble, or similar).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Work Environment

• Combination of office and field-based work.
• Regular interaction with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Occasional travel to job sites, pre-bid meetings, and project walkthroughs.
• Fast-paced environment managing multiple bids and projects simultaneously.
• May require extended hours during bid deadlines or critical project phases.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
• Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites.
• Capability to lift up to 25 pounds (plans, equipment, or materials).
• Visual acuity to review detailed drawings and documents.
• Must be able to wear required PPE when visiting job sites.
