A well-established HVAC organization is conducting a confidential search for an experienced General Manager to oversee and lead overall business operations across service, installation, sales, and administrative functions. This individual will play a critical role in driving operational performance, developing high-performing teams, improving profitability, and supporting long-term strategic growth.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within the HVAC industry, along with the ability to balance operational oversight, employee development, customer relationships, and financial accountability.
- Lead and manage daily operations across HVAC service, construction, retrofit, and maintenance departments
- Drive operational efficiency, profitability, and overall business performance
- Develop and implement strategies to improve workflow, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Monitor departmental KPIs, budgets, forecasting, and financial performance metrics
- Partner with executive leadership on business planning, growth initiatives, and operational goals
- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams across field and office operations
- Foster a positive company culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and safety
- Conduct leadership meetings and maintain communication between departments
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee development initiatives
- Review staffing needs and assist with workforce planning strategies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations
- Maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts when needed
- Assist in resolving escalated customer service or operational issues
- Evaluate processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Minimum 7+ years of leadership experience within the HVAC industry
- Prior experience overseeing commercial and/or residential HVAC operations
- Strong background in operations management, team leadership, and financial oversight
- Experience managing service, installation, or construction-focused HVAC teams
- Proven ability to lead multiple departments and drive operational growth
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and performance metrics
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate teams and build strong internal culture
- Experience with CRM, dispatching, or ERP software platforms preferred
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Experience working with both commercial and residential HVAC operations
- Prior P&L responsibility preferred
- Experience scaling teams and improving operational processes
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar HVAC software platforms is a plus
