HVAC Install Technician

Job Purpose: An HVAC Installation Professional Level I provides installation of systems to company standards providing the client with a high quality experience. These systems include HVAC/R equipment, duct systems, fittings, grilles, registers, diffusers, controls and related equipment.

Primary Duties:
  • Follow defined installation procedures for HVAC/R equipment according to company instructions/policy, manufacturer installation instructions, salesperson notes, and if applicable per instructions of Lead HVAC Install Professional.
  • Identify and solve problems that might prevent the completion of work within budgeted time.
  • Complete repairs, improvements, or installations within budgeted hours, in accordance with company standards, while maintaining quality workmanship.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on ways to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Start up new equipment and verify correct operation.
  • Understand and follow proper safety procedures.
  • Collect for work performed if applicable.
  • Clean equipment and work area upon completion of work.
  • Loading/unloading stock supplies and equipment in truck.
  • Maintain material stock levels in service vehicle as well as keeping vehicle clean and organized.
  • Complete paperwork as required by management on a timely basis, including hours worked and materials used.
  • Acquire sufficient knowledge, skills, training, and information to achieve peak performance, continuous improvement, potential advancement, and a positive, productive work environment consistent with company goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, co-workers, subcontractors and others.
  • Operate company vehicle as needed.
  • Answer phone during business hours and on call periods
  • Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly.
  • May be asked to perform other duties or work in other departments as needed.

  • Proficient Verbal and Written English language skills
  • Ability to follow and carry out both written and verbal instructions in a timely manner
  • Ability to arrive on time daily
  • Ability to follow and perform installation procedures for HVAC/R equipment and troubleshoot problems
  • Ability to follow controls/wiring schematic
  • Ability to braze/solder/weld and perform minor field fabrication
  • Ability to safely use ladders in performance of job duties including climbing and descending from a ladder.
  • Ability to work at heights above ground floor level
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • Ability to use a tape measure, cut & drill holes, insulate duct, and assemble sheet metal fittings
  • Willingness to invest time in training seminars and classes.
  • Adaptability: Manage competing demands and frequent changes in a fast paced work environment.
  • Maintain professional well groomed, workman like appearance with no visible tattoos or piercings
  • Maintain professional attitude at all times

  • RH LH Snips, Scratch Awl, Small Hammer, 2x Tape Measure, Flashlight, RH LH Offsets, Large screwdriver, Large Pliers, Black Sharpie, Cordless Drill w/bits, Crimper
Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability by Company insurance carrier
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
Working Conditions:
  • Workweeks are 5 Days: Monday thru Friday
  • 1 hour of Unpaid Time for Lunch is recommended
  • Start Time is 7:30 AM, End Time is 4:30 PM
  • Staggered work schedule may be required
  • Overtime will be required on an as-needed basis
  • Travel and overnight stays may be required
Key Requirements:
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. - E-Verify System is used to verify employment eligibility
  • Will be subject to Pre-Employment drug and alcohol tests, background investigation and/or credit check
