About the Role
As the Installation Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and optimizing the installation team to deliver exceptional workmanship, efficiency, and customer experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical expertise and strong people development skills.
You will play a critical role in:
- Scaling the department
- Improving operational efficiency
- Maintaining and improving elite installation standards
- Developing top-tier technicians
- Designing HVAC and Duct Systems to Improve Homeowner Quality of Life and Comfort
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and manage the HVAC Installation Department
- Recruit, hire, and retain high-performing technicians
- Train and develop installers into A-Players
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing coaching
- Run structured team and performance meetings
Operations & Performance
- Set and drive departmental goals and KPIs
- Improve installation processes, efficiency, and quality control
- Monitor and grow department profitability
- Oversee scheduling coordination with dispatch/service
- Ensure all jobs meet company quality standards
Technical Oversight
- Support technicians with complex installs and troubleshooting
- Perform site visits to ensure installation quality
- Oversee installations including:
- Air Conditioners
- Heat Pumps
- Air Handlers
- Gas Furnaces
- Package Units
- Light Commercial Systems
- Perform Site Visits to Ensure Quality Standards are being Met
Customer Experience
- Ensure every job delivers a 5-star customer experience
- Handle escalated customer concerns professionally
- Conduct follow-ups and quality assurance checks
Inventory & Fleet Management
- Manage installation materials, equipment, and inventory
- Oversee truck stock and organization
- Ensure fleet vehicles are properly maintained
Financial & Administrative
- Manage budgets, job costing, and department reporting
- Track and hit KPIs such as:
- Revenue per crew
- Gross profit
- Efficiency metrics
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and OSHA compliance
- Maintain high standards for jobsite safety and workmanship
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC Installation Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership role
- Strong knowledge of: Residential & light commercial HVAC systems
- Strong knowledge of: Installation best practices
- Strong knowledge of: Diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with CRM/dispatch software (ServiceTitan preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Willingness to work flexible hours and support after-hours needs when necessary
- Certifications such as NATE are a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
